Choose and Chat: K-1

This activity engages students in evaluating authors’ purpose. Students sort passages into three categories of author’s purpose: persuade, inform, and entertain.

In this activity students are presented with picture cards and sentence cards. Students take turns matching the corresponding picture cards with sentence strips.

Students to use their knowledge of positional words to place a beanbag in the correct position.
