What is it?

IXL is a comprehensive personalized learning platform that supports PK-12 math, language arts, science and social studies instruction. IXL has embedded diagnostic assessments that practitioners can use to identify students’ learning needs. It also places students with like-needs in groups that practitioners can use to inform small-group composition. The language arts component of this platform can be aligned to the scope and sequence of several curricula including EL Education (only in 3rd-8th grade). While the language arts aspect of IXL covers both word reading and listening comprehension skills, a focus on the “Reading Strategies”, “Vocabulary”, and “Grammar and Mechanics” content for each grade level likely most closely align with listening comprehension component skill instruction/practice.
